Principal’s Message

Dear Springer Families,

As an extension to our Project Cornerstone values, Springer will be emphasizing three character traits. These traits will be implemented across all grade levels during each school year. The traits are:

We are Bucket Fillers

We use Growth Mindset

We are Upstanders

Soon you will see signage around the school, serving as reminders of these traits. We have selected several books to support these traits that will be placed in each classroom, as well as read by Ms. Chie, in the library, this month. Please come and see our Student Ambassadors’ skits for each trait this month during our Wednesday Morning Assemblies!  Beginning February we will be recognizing students at our Wednesday Morning Assemblies who demonstrate these attributes. Their peers will be part of the character description process in each classroom.

I want to thank our Character Education Team (Sarah Daniels, Ria Shah, Linda Mooers, Stephanie Guindy, Jill Williams, Debarati Sen, and Lauren Robb) for their time and talents, as well as the PTA for supporting the school with books and signage.

Springer Rocks!

Principal’s Coffee

Please join us for our Principal’s Coffee, next Thursday, in the staff room. We will meet right after Morning Assembly (8:45). I will be giving an update on our four schoolwide areas of academics, data, character education, and technology. I hope to see you there!

Warmly,

Robin

 Parent Education Opportunities

The MVLA Parent Education Speaker Series is excited to announce our speaker line-up for the 2018-2019 school year.  Six nationally and internationally recognized experts will join us to discuss a wide range of topics including – navigating today’s college search process and financial aid options; exploring the crucial impact of sleep on the wellness and success of children and teens; raising resilient kids in a stressful world; fostering increased well-being; engaging the power of self-compassion; and optimizing the college experience to prepare young adults for the jobs of tomorrow.
