Welcome Back
It was so good to see all the kids back on Wednesday. They came back excited and happy. In a word, it felt right.
The students’ first day was a success. A good start on the first day of school is so important for setting the tone for the year. Every year, my awe of the teachers continues to grow as I watch them work so hard the days, and even weeks, before school to ensure a great beginning to the school year. Teachers meticulously prepare their rooms, make sure that the name tags for each student are perfect, and that every child has a special connection in their classroom. The teachers at Springer are truly a wonderful bunch.
I welcome back all our families to the 2011-12 school year. And, if you are a new family to Springer, I especially want to welcome you. I invite you to contact me at any time if you have any questions or concerns. You are going to like it here; Springer is truly a wonderful community.
Yard Duty positions available: I am looking for people to serve as Yard Duty monitors at lunch. I have both paid and volunteer positions available. "Walking the yard" at lunch is a great way to interact with the kids and get a sense of our school climate and culture. If interested, please contact me.
Principal PE help needed: I am also looking for parent volunteers to assist me on Friday afternoons with Principal PE. I will be running some PE activities for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders every Friday after lunch and could use some parent help. If interested please contact me.
We're off to a great start and I look forward to seeing all of your throughout the year.
