Principal’s Letter |
We Need Your Input! This year, the Springer School Site Council is conducting a parent survey about various aspects of Springer School. The survey was emailed to all parents on Monday, November 28th and will be open until Friday, December 9th. The survey provides the Site Council essential data in which to analyze Springer School. Of particular note is the section on facility improvements and upgrades which will give the Site Council data on which to make recommendations to PTA for expenditures to improve the campus. Other sections allow the school to monitor the campus climate (which includes the "feel" of the campus) and the academic programs. Site Council asks that parents take the survey once for each child enrolled at Springer. While many questions could be generalized, the Site Council feels that opinions may change depending on your experience at different grade levels. In order to get enough responses to validate the survey, you will be reminded between now and December 9th to take the survey. If you have already taken the survey and receive a reminder, simply disregard the reminder. The survey should take about 10 minutes to complete. We thank you for your input. It is essential to making Springer the best it can be. The link to the survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/DWRKSJ2 |

SPRINGER AUCTION 2012: SAVE THE DATE - March 24, 2012 Please join us for a safari adventure at the 2012 Springer Auction! The theme this year is "Sunset on the Serengeti". This annual event is our largest and most awesome "adult-only" fundraising and community building party of the year and is designed to bring together the Springer parents and community members for an evening of laughs, delicious food/drinks and dancing late into the night! All this, while raising money for the school, to boot! The proceeds from the auction are used to help provide library and literature books, materials needed for math, science, social studies, art/music programs, computers/technology materials and playground equipment. So, mark your calendars and reserve your babysitter! And, you may want to start thinking about how YOU can contribute to the success of this event! For ideas on how you, as a member of the Springer community, can help and for more details, please visit the web page: Springer Auction. New this year! The staff at Abracadabra have agreed to offer "auction night" babysitting service for the first 75 children to sign up! It's important to note that the staff will be doing this independently and not as an Abra staff member, BUT they are able to use the Abra facility. Stay tuned for more details! |

Do you volunteer? Do you work at Intel, IBM, Microsoft, Cisco or other large company? You may be able to earn money for Springer through the volunteering you're already doing. Many large employers in the area offer programs that pay schools when their employees volunteer. For example, Intel will pay $10 per hour to Springer for each hour an employee volunteers through their Intel Involved program. Volunteering can include classroom help, PTA committees, Walkathon, Friday Folders, Garden/Literature docents, Crosswalk duty, even work you do from home to benefit the school. Check with your Community Affairs or HR departments to find out if your company offers this program. Many companies ask you to record your hours before December 31 in order to qualify for matching this year, so don't wait! And if your company offers this program, please contact manishapatelshah[at]gmail.com, so we can add them to our list. |
