Principal’s Message

Dear Springer Families,

One of our Springer Character Education pillars is to have a growth mindset. In alignment with this commitment, the Springer staff measures, monitors  and assesses the school’s progress in the areas of academics, communication, socio-emotional, and safety. We have completed looking at our data in the area of academics and communication and developed the following goals for this year.

Schoolwide

In grades 3-6 there will be a 2% growth in the Nearly Met and Above Standards performance bands in the area of ELA Reading as measured by 2019 CAASPP assessment.

By spring 2019, there will be a 2% growth in the percent of K-2 students meeting or exceeding benchmark standards in Reading as measured by fall and spring Fountas & Pinnell assessments.

EL

By spring 2019, there will be a 5% increase of EL students in grades K-6 meeting or exceeding benchmark standards in Reading as measured by fall and spring Fountas & Pinnell assessments.

School Climate

Springer will focus on Communication with the parent community through the implementation of collective commitments in the areas of Growth Mindset and the workshop model.

We have also determined activities to help us reach these goals. These activities can be found on our website by clicking on this link.

We are currently working on collecting data in the areas of socio-emotional and safety and will develop goals this spring in these areas. The Springer School Site Council will also be sending out a parent survey this spring to receive your input regarding the curriculum, socio-emotional, communication, and safety aspects of our school. There will also be several PTA questions on this survey. We value your input and encourage you to complete the short survey when it is sent out via email in the spring.

We appreciate our Springer Community!

Warmly

Robin
